Port Harker Scrapbook.

I’ve always been one for imagining that there are a whole lot of possibilities and adventures to be had after death. There seems to be hell of a lot of bother in this life for there to be nothing else.

Not a religious person, I’ve let my mind wander around and pick up ideas and philosophies from cultures around the world.

The result was a “what if” question: “What if there isn’t a heaven or hell? What if life is where LIFE happens, and death is a place for R&R, therapy, and downtime between lives…? What if that place was a town? What if the town was Port Harker? What if Port Harker was the border town between life and death?

That’s how Port Harker came about. It’s been stewing around my imagination since 2015. And finally, here it is.

I hope you enjoy this little scrapbook. It’s some of the ideas, research, images, and imaginings that created the world.

Q&A: Is Dante in Port Harker?

Yes! Betuine Harker (the mayor of Port Harker) took Dante on a tour of her Circles of Hell. By the time they reached the 9th Circle, Betuine decided she didn’t like Dante much, so she cut the tour short and sent him back to LIFE.

Dante was so annoyed that he didn’t get to see the whole place that he wrote his book and purposefully misrepresented the Circles.

This infuriated Betuine! In revenge, when Dante died, instead of sending him back to Life, she put him in a box in the 12th Circle. Not fair and not nice, but that’s what you get for messing with the mayor of Port Harker.
